Abstract
Retinoids were reported that they induced epidermal cell differentiation. Their stimulating capacity on the cell differentiation can be used for the cancer therapy. This experiment was performed to confirm the potent stimulating effect of the
retinoic
acid on the cancer cell differentiation by monitoring chemiluminescence. HL-60 cells were stimulated by varing concentrations of retinoic acid and emitted lights depending on the concentrations. The most effective concentration was 10E-6M, but it
had a
toxic effect in high concentration(>10E-5M). Phese results may indicate retinoic acid induce the differentiation of HL-60 cell and resulting in the increase of phagocytosis, and therefore the measuring of chemiluminescence can be used to monitor
the
effect of retinoic acid or other drugs.
